After i cut the vinyl with my cricut air 2 measure and cut the transfer tape to fit my vinyl i peel the backing off the transfer tape and stick it down onto my shag carpet.

Sometimes for reasons unknown the vinyl does not want to lift up with the transfer paper.
The only exception to this is when you are using glitter vinyl it needs a super sticky transfer paper.
