Use a butter knife or metal spatula to scrape the frozen gum off the carpet. Allow it to crack and break into fragments and remove as much as possible. These substances will dissolve the polymer compounds in chewing gum reducing its sticky properties so it will be easy to remove the chewing gum from the carpet. To freeze the gum out of your carpet grab a few ice cubes from the freezer and place them in a zip loc bag.

Use the side of a fork to lightly scrape the carpet back and forth. Do this until the fibers become springy and start standing upright. Place the ice bag directly on the gum in your carpet and wait 5 10 minutes. Step 4 using a metal spatula or butter knife slowly start to scrape the gum off the carpet.

The dry powder helps pull the dirt and soil out of the carpet. Follow the instructions on the cleaner to determine how much you should use on your carpet. After this time the gum should be frozen enough and you can start breaking it out. Just be careful not to spread the gum to surrounding carpet.

Step 3 soak the gum with oil by blotting it with the cloth. Put the bag of ice directly onto the gum stain. Vacuum up the pieces thoroughly approaching the area from varying directions. Otherwise i use oxy clean and it works.

Close and seal it tight to avoid leaking water as the ice melts. Make sure you cover the gum and all around the edges. Hit the frozen gum with the back of a metal kitchen utensil breaking it into pieces. Use a scraping tool to fully scrape the gum from the carpet.

You may need to apply more wd 40 to the carpet to get all of the gum out of it. Direct the wd 40 toward the gum itself and give it a few minutes to soak in and loosen the gum. This will harden the gum so it s easier to remove gum from carpet. Dry cleaning involves applying a dry powder to your carpet working the powder into the carpet and then vacuuming up the dry powder.

For the total removal of a dried gum from the carpet use a knife or ordinary spoon. I had a berber carpet and i used ice. 3 mix a vinegar solution. Step 5 after the gum is completely removed wash the area with warm soapy water to get any oil that is left in the carpet.

Sponge the gum stain directly with cleaning fluid such as 409. You hold a big cube of ice on the gum for a few minutes then the gum will break and you can pick it off the carpet. Step 3 use the prongs of the fork to gently lift the dented carpet.
